Parenting books can help, but its challenging to find the best ones. Talking to friends and family can be helpful, but their advice can be conflicting. You also might be embarrassed to disclose to family and friends the problems you are having and the problems your child or teen is having. Getting help from a counsellor who specializes in working with parents and their children gives you a safe and non-judgmental place to get help with your parenting concerns and questions. No parent is perfect. You dont have to feel weak or guilty about seeking a counsellor.
