BBBS Langley - Multi-sport Explorations

Multi-Sport Explorations is an after-school program where students will participate in fun-filled activities and learn more about a particular topic of interest in a supportive environment with Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors. Participants will spend the first part of the group taking part in activities, games, and discussions. The second portion of the group will be spent in an Exploration group learning about a specific subject in an interactive and supportive environment. Our goal is to create a safe, positive space for students to explore different creative outlets! PURPOSE The main goal of the Explorations program is to have fun, take part in activities, engage in interesting discussions, learn new skills, hang out with friends, meet new ones and spend time with great leaders! Each week, mentors will lead students through different sports and group games such as soccer, hockey, badminton, tag, and dodgeball to list a few! THE PROGRAM STRIVES TO DO THE FOLLOWING: Provide children and youth with the skills and support they need to learn a new hobby Create a positive environment for children to develop new friendships Establish healthy and trusting relationships with their mentors Provide children with interactive learning sessions in a fun and safe atmosphere Promote healthy decision making skills
