About this service
NIFCS hosts a transition ceremony for our Youth in Care when they turn 19 years old, in which their family and community members (Child and Family team, Chief, Council, etc.) are invited to attend. These events allow the youth to see that they will have family, friends and other supports as part of their support network as they are transitioning to adulthood. Our Social Worker plans a ceremony with meal that is inclusive of these key players involved in the youths life.
