The curriculum of Skmxist Preschool incorporates Aboriginal culture, including cultural teachers. Teachings include nsyilxcn language instruction, traditional songs, traditional foods, and drum-making and other craft workshops. Curriculum is play-based, giving children the opportunity to explore, take turns, develop problem-solving skills, and foster greater independence. Children are prepared throughout the year for entry into kindergarten.
Funding for this program is provided by the B.C. Ministry of Children and Family Development.
