Our Elder Care program centres around a culturally appropriate holistic approach that focuses on achieving and maintaining wellness through the balanced teachings of the Medicine Wheel. Services include: assistance with obtaining health care and contact with Aboriginal Patient Navigator; assistance with Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, and Guaranteed Income Supplement applications; access to mental health services; and housing. Activities for Elders include: monthly Elders Luncheons, attending the annual Elders Gathering, Elders Picnic, medicine picking, yoga, and other activities.
Annually, a group of our Elders attend the Elders Gathering.
Funding for this program is provided by Interior Health.
