Our prevention and treatment programs are centred around the holistic teachings of the Medicine Wheel. The goal is to assist clients to recover to a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual state of wellness. Through counselling in a culturally appropriate framework, each client receives the respect they need in order to grow and develop a healthy sense of pride and personal well-being. Culture is an important component of recovery, and cultural knowledge helps to greatly strengthen the treatment and successful recovery of individuals dealing with addiction issues. Referrals are provided to treatment facilities, and other resources.
Weekly Wellbriety meetings are held on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm, and Alcoholics Anonymous meets each weekday (except holidays) from 9:30 am 10:30 amboth at the Friendship Centre. Contact the Friendship Centre for more information.
