About this service
COHAs trained volunteers are compassionate to the unique circumstances and needs on ones journey through illness and end-of-life. Whether for self, family or friend, our supportive care volunteers provide encouragement, support and companionship with their listening ears, warm smiles, and caring touch. Volunteers may participate in favorite activities, read, journal, play a game, watch a show or simply being a presence as they provide practical support to you and your family during lifes difficult transitions.
Caregiving can be very overwhelming. Providing respite support for caregivers is very important for personal time for self, running errands or for restoration. Volunteer visits may begin as respite support for caregivers or a request for companionship and reassurance for self or a loved one.
Community visiting is a gift of time and many who experience this gift reflect on the relief and goodness that our supportive care volunteers bring to each life and situation.
