About this service
The Indigenous Student Advocate supports students and their families in many ways to promote education and life-long learning in accordance with the Enhancement Agreement.
Roles include:
- Assist each student and their family in overcoming obstacles that may challenge education, both inside and outside of the school setting
- Assist and encourage parental/guardian participation and advocate on their behalf with school staff and outside agencies
- Maintain attendance and academics
- Cultural teaching
- Maintain personal goal-setting, self-esteem and peer interaction
