About this service
The "Can-Do-It" group program gives the opportunity for youth's aged 13 to 18 living with a developmental disability to learn work skills while also making a contribution to their community.
The youth participate in small groups of four or five with staff support for about 1.5 hours one afternoon a week at Bedford Manor, a care facility in downtown Kamloops. There they take direction from the recreation coordinator and participate in programs with the residents. These programs can include playing games, baking, cooking, visiting, grounds keeping, seasonal decorating and many other activities.
"Can-Do-It" is part of the Family Support Program and referrals are received from the Children and Youth with Special Needs program of the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
