About this organization
Seniors' Community Centre (SCC) provides low cost meals program and activity programs for Seniors and those with diverse abilities. SCC is fully accessible and only senior centre centrally located downtown. Chair Fitness, Chair Yoga, Square Dancing, Table Tennis, Scrabble, Mahjong, Coffee groups, Parkinsons and various card games remain very popular. SCC supports AA, GA and NA programs on a weekly basis. TGIF a group of approximately 50 people with diverse abilities meet weekly for coffee and goodies. Our low cost meal programs provides home style cooking and nutritious well balanced meals. We have 50+/- volunteers who gave approximately 16,676 hours in 2017. Being active both socially, physically and mentally provides well-being, helps keep mind and body alert and socialization helps relieve loneliness and depression. SCC also hosts entertainment and educational programs some of safety, healthy and safe living, future planning as aging progresses and community awareness.
