About this service
The Family Centre provides parenting programs as needed to families with young children. This program provides information to parents on how children develop and explores the environment and relationships needed to support healthy development.
Parenting programs delivered to support parents who are parenting preteen and adolescents are provided through Parenting Wisely, a self-administered computerised parenting skills education programme. The programme is designed for parents of children up to the age of 18 and teaches parents constructive skills to address substance use and abuse among young people, school problems, delinquency and other behaviour problems. The programme seeks to help families to improve their relationships with each other and reduce conflicts through behavioural management and support. Parents are expected to complete the programme together with their child.
