About this organization
HSAR is called upon to assist when specialized skills are required or accessibility into backcountry.
Hope Search and Rescue was established in 1963 and is called upon to assist when specialized skills are required or accessibility into backcountry areas is limited.
Hope Search and Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization that has one of the largest areas to cover.
- From an area as far south as the US border, east Herrling Island (Hwy 1 West) to Hope
- Hope to Jackass Mountain (Hwy 1 South)
- Ruby Creek (Hwy 7) to Hope
- Hope to just past the Toll Booth on (Hwy 5)
Due to the vast numbers of motoring public traveling through the area, along with our road rescue capability, Hope Search and Rescue has one of the largest call-out volumes within the province.
