About this organization
The Golden Food Bank is an essential service in our community that relies on continual support from individuals, businesses, charities, government agencies, service providers, and the Town and Regional District to operate. We thank all of those in our community that contribute generously in kind and through donations to the Golden Food Bank
The Golden Food Bank Society was established as a registered charity in Golden on April 1, 2003 and continues to operate due to a dedicated core of volunteers providing over 1600 hours of volunteer time annually, a committed staff of 2 part-time employees and a Board of Directors, all of whom believe in helping those in need in our community. Funding for the Food Bank comes from grants and the generous support of our community as well as shipments received from 'food hubs' thanks to our partnership with Food Banks Canada. The Golden Food Bank does not receive ongoing Provincial or Federal Government support.
