Outreach Services For the elderly: A library staff member visits the Christenson Village every 4 weeks, with library books and audiobooks for residents For print-impaired patrons: Here in the library we have audiobooks and Daisy CDs for those who are unable to read conventional print due to a disability. For those with a certified impairment, we can bring in audiobooks from other libraries in the province. We also provide access to the services of CELA (Centre for Equitable Library Access Collection) and NNELS (National Network of Equitable Library Service). Eligibility Access to either collection is available to people who are unable to read conventional print due to a disability. Its important to remember that such a disability can include: Learning disability: an impairment relating to comprehension Physical disability: the inability to hold or manipulate a book Visual disability: severe or total impairment of sight or the inability to focus or move ones eyes. Centre for Equitable Library Access Collection (CELA) A collection of over 230,000 books, magazines, newspapers and described videos in a choice of formats for people with a print disability. Lots of choice including current bestsellers, award-winners and classics Fiction, non-fiction, self-help, business and more Books for kids, teens and adults Books in audio, braille or accessible e-book formats Download books or receive home delivery by mail National Network of Equitable Library Service (NNELS) By providing an accessible library service for people with print disabilities in digital formats and free of charge NNELS is making good on the responsibility public libraries have to all Canadians. The NNELS collection contains 10,000 e-audio and Braille titles, 90% of which are popular fiction.
