About this service
If you live in B.C. and meet eligibility criteria, you may qualify for subsidized housing. Subsidized housing for seniors and people with disabilities is long-term housing for people who permanently reside in British Columbia. Rent is calculated on a rent geared to income basis (30% of household total gross income, subject to minimum rent based on # of people).
Applicants must permanently reside in BC when applying, and each member of the household must be one of the following:
- Canadian citizen
- Individual lawfully admitted into Canada for permanent residence
- Refugee sponsored by the Government of Canada
- Individual who has applied for refugee status
Who can use it?
Persons 55+ or persons in receipt of a disability pension or considered disabled for tax purposes
