About this organization
The District of Invermere is located in the Columbia Valley, between the Rocky and Purcell Mountain ranges, on a lake at the mouth of the Columbia River, in the Rocky Mountain Trench. Invermere is halfway between Radium Hot Springs and Fairmont Hot Springs, on the west side of Lake Windermere. The population is 3,400 full time residents, and has a very large part time resident population, summer and winter. Established in 1810, as a trading post, Invermere has become a popular vacation resort area. The many golf courses, great back country, outdoor activities, and the lake make the area a Mecca for vacationers.
