CWAV - Cowichan Men Choose Respect

Cowichan Men Choose Respect a 12 week relationships course for men who want to change their use of abuse in their partner relationships and in their family. Men work to build on their skills and capacities to create relationships based on safety, equality and respect.

Men self refer (or may be recommended by others) and place their own name on a confidential voicemail to start the process. A counsellor will contact them within two business days, set up a meeting and sign up for the next course offering. Groups start bi-monthly. Partners can attend an online information session and give feedback on progress.

To participate:

agree to not use abuse or violence

be willing to commit to the program and attend nine of the ten sessions.

work on their own use of abuse and be committed to improving the safety and quality of their relationships

not currently attending a course in respectful relationships through Corrections

receive a certificate of completion
