The Ditidaht People understand that all things are connected. This teaching has guided us for over 5,000 years, as we have cared for and been nurtured by the rich natural and spiritual worlds of this land and sea. Our traditional territory is large, stretching from the deep forests surrounding Cowichan and Nitinaht Lakes down to the Pacific Ocean. We walk with pride and comfort between the traditional and modern worlds, embracing and protecting our strong culture, exploring economic opportunities for our people, and sharing our abundant fish, clean air and water with welcome visitors.
