Sardis Community Church - Seniors Ministries

JOY group is a seniors program that has been active at SCC for about 25 years. The main activities of the group are socializing, studying the Bible, learning new things, singing hymns and other familiar gospel songs, eating and praying together. We meet weekly. In a typical month we have breakfast together in a local restaurant, have two Bible studies and one week of special programming. We also have a few outings and meet occasionally throughout the summer.

We invite guests who have expertise in dealing with housing, financial, and health issues that we face as we age. We hear from those who travel to spread the gospel message. We get together with the youth to play games. We care for each other in practical ways like offering rides, sharing food, and making phone calls. Our membership spans the ages from 60s-100.
