About this service
Emily House opened in August 1996 welcoming five people. A board member helped purchase the house and it was named in honour of her niece, Emily, who has Down Syndrome. Emily came to the opening ceremony to cut the ribbon with one of the residents. Five people with disabilities live in Emily House, along with four live-in assistants and additional support from part-time assistants.
