The Fraser Valley Rent Assistance Project provides one-time emergency interest-free loans as well as grants for families and individuals who are at risk of losing their homes. Loans are provided to pay for security and utility deposits and rent, with a maximum loan repayment period of 24 months. Participants also have the opportunity to build knowledge and skills in effective money management. FVRAP covers the areas of Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope, Aggasiz and Harrison Hot Spring.
The objectives of the Fraser Valley Rent Assistance Project are to:
- Secure stable housing or prevent eviction
- Avoid utility disconnection or re-connect utilities
- Build knowledge and skills in effective money management
