ABBY PARENTS and LOVED ONES (of Trans*) DISCUSSION GROUP
This is a free facilitated discussion and info-sharing group for parents and loved ones of anyone dealing with gender diversity and/or gender identity issues. It is an excellent place to get accurate relevant information pertaining to your specific family situation. Some families come only after a family member or spouse has begun the process, other families come immediately upon hearing that one of their kids might be trans. This can be one of the most alarming things for a parent or spouse to hear, but being trans* means different things to different people... there are degrees of gender distress; not everyone even wants hormones, for example, though many do.
One of the main purposes of this group is to get parents and loved ones together with others also dealing with this. Its a very welcoming friendly mellow group and has made a huge difference to many lives throughout the Lower Mainland.
