About this service
The Alberta Brain Injury Initiative (ABII) helps adults with acquired brain injury to live, work and participate in their communities. ABII is a network of agencies that assist survivors and their families in accessing supports from various programs and community resources across the province.
These agencies act as service coordinators who:
- provide information about brain injury and the supports and services that are available
- assess an individuals needs
- work with survivors, their families and community service providers to develop service plans and service agreements as needed
- make referrals, where appropriate, for community supports and independent living skills development
- assist survivors and their families to identify, apply for and coordinate benefits and services
