BGC Whitecourt - Before & After School Program

The Before & After School Program was established to coordinate with families who have varying work schedules, who needed a place for their children to go before and after their regular school day. Operating during the school year, Monday through Friday, children ages 4.5 to 11 can be dropped off at the BGC starting at 7:00 AM. Each morning children are provided breakfast and then can spend the rest of their free time at creative play stations, reading in the book nook or drawing and coloring at the arts and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)fts table. Approximately fifteen minutes before the bus pick up (located across the street at Whitecourt Central School), Program Facilitators will help children get organized and supervise the walk to the bus stop and the boarding of their respective school bus . Note: A bus pass is required. This can be purchased from Northern Gateway Public Schools, and they can be reached at 780-778-2800. The After School Program begins at around 3:15 PM, depending on your child's bus, and is open until 6:00 PM. Children are greeted at the bus stop (located across the street at Whitecourt Central School) and then have a supervised walk back to the BGC. A healthy snack is provided and then children can choose from different activities like science, arts and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)fts, creative writing, and various creative play stations. Each week the children (dependent on weather) will have outings to the surrounding parks nearby!
