Gateway Academy (Hilltop High School)

Gateway Academy is an alternative school for off campus education located in down town Whitecourt. The idea of Gateway Academy is to meet the needs of students who would prefer to pursue their education in a non-traditional high school setting. Students at Gateway Academy have the opportunity to take a wide range of courses from cores to options.

Gateway Academy Program is designed for students who:

• Are unsuccessful in the regular school setting;
• Need only a few credits to complete their high school diploma;
• Have work commitments or heath issues interfering with regular attendance;
• Are single parents who are unable to commit to a full-time program;
• May have experienced difficulties and dropped out of school;
• Have relocated mid-semester and are unable to register in regular school;
• Wish to upgrade to meet post-secondary requirements;
• Exhibit a desire to improve their education and career options.
