The Strathmore & Wheatland County Christmas Hamper Society

The Strathmore & Wheatland County Christmas Hamper Society is a non-profit organization that has delivered generous Christmas hampers to needful families in the Strathmore and Wheatland County region for over 30 years. In 1981 The Happy Gang heard of a familys financial plight and donated a hamper to help. The society was formed in 1985 as a charity and has carried on the tradition of helping families enjoy a better Christmas ever since. None of this could be possible without the valuable support of our local schools, churches, service clubs, businesses and countless volunteers. Learn more about us or ways to give below.

We all understand that Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but it can also be the most stressful. The typical family we assist usually have both parents working, but their budget is stretched to the point of breaking and there is little, if anything left over for Christmas presents for the children or extra food for Christmas dinner. To help reduce that stress Christmas Hampers filled with food, household necessities and toys are available. Once you have been approved to receive a hamper you will be given a card number and date and time for pick up at the Livestock Pavilion (blue building within the Strathmore Ag Grounds). This information is required for you to collect your boxes at the distribution location. Please check our calendar for distribution and screening cut-off dates.

Families who demonstrate need; need to provide Alberta Health Care number and financial information (eg: utility bills, mortgage/rent and income).
