Homestead Place

Our seniors self-contained apartments provide an independent living option for seniors 65 years of age or older who are seeking affordable housing options. Monthly rent is based on 30% of the resident's monthly income, thus they are considered "Rent-Geared-to-Income" or RGI housing. Located in Josephburg, a hamlet with a population of just over 200, Homestead Place opened in 1982. This 8 unit apartment services the needs of rural seniors from Strathcona County and Fort Saskatchewan area. The Province owns this project with Heartland Housing Foundation managing the facility on the Province's behalf. Residents require an automobile to get to required services, as no public transportation or local services are available. Each apartment is 520 square feet.
