The Sexsmith and District Museum Society

The Sexsmith & District Museum Society is a non-profit organization that began as the Sexsmith to the Smoky Historical Society in 1977, originally established to write a history book (published in 1980 as "Wagon Trails Grown Over") of the Sexsmith area, using stories collected from residents and former residents. The society changed its name in 1988 to its current form. Its mission is to acquire, conserve, research, communicate, and exhibit material documenting the history of the people and their environment in Sexsmith and the surrounding region. The preservation of the area's history and culture is one of the society's primary tasks.
