Rocky Mountain House - Prenatal Education Programs

Public Health offers prenatal education classes for pregnant women, their partners and/or support people.

Nutrition Class: Starting Off Healthy Attend before you become pregnant or anytime during your pregnancy:

• Foods and nutrients needed for pregnancy
• Healthy weight gain
• Food demonstration/tasting

Later pregnancy classes - Attend in your second or early third trimester:

1. Delivering Your Baby

• Normal changes in 3rd trimester
• Stages of labour and birth
• When to go to the hospital
• Role of the support person

2. Meeting Your Baby

• Decision making in labour & delivery
• When things dont go as planned
• What to expect after delivery
• Getting to know your newborn

3. You and Your New Baby

• Feeding your baby
• Learning to breastfeed
• Understanding and responding to your baby

Register by calling 1 (855) 554-4774 or by calling your local Community Health Centre. Class dates and locations will be provided during the call.

Nutrition class is free. Bundle of 3 later classes is $60, or $20 each.

Rocky Mountain House - Prenatal Education Programs is open Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, closed 1-2 pm for lunch.
