About this service
The Womens Programs team consists of an LPN and an Outreach Worker. The team provides a community based holistic response to supporting pregnant and child bearing aged women in Red Deer who are experiencing vulnerability due to place or circumstance. The Program uses a harm reduction approach which focuses on meeting women and their families where they are at and reducing barriers to health and social services resulting in improved health outcomes for women in the program and the infants born to them.
The Womens Program offers a safe, low barrier service to clients who may have disengaged with or been removed from programming or service provision at other agencies. The team creates a safe first step for vulnerable pregnant and child bearing aged women to reengage with health and social supports and services. We can provide support for women to navigate systems and facilitate connections to community and medical supports and services.
