About this service
Heritage Family Services will support in the transition of children to permanent placements. The Heritage Families Program offers twenty-four hour, home-based care for children and youth. Effective Care Plans are developed and implemented for each child and include the family of origin. In order for this to take place, Heritage Family Services Ltd. carefully selects families who are capable and motivated to provide a stable, growth-producing family environment. These Heritage Families will furnish emotional stability and appropriate care for the child to recoup prior developmental losses, build enduring attachments, and progress normally.
This program uses a team approach to support children and youth in home environments to develop their full potential. Each foster family and child is teamed with a family support worker, a therapist, an Aboriginal Resource worker and a Program Coordinator. The family support worker provides weekly contact with the foster parent(s).
