About this service
Assists single parents to increase life management skills and access supports and employment. Assistance is provided to individuals who are unemployed or marginally employed through their participation in a structured program, which leads to employment or involvement with further training.
Each participant will develop personalized goals and participate in group learning opportunities to increase life management and employability skills. Participants will receive one-to-one assistance to work towards achieving their identified goals and receive outreach support to assist in connecting to additional community supports and employers. Specific activities offered through this all-inclusive program include:
- Life management planning
- Essentials skills development
- Connecting to community resources
- Peer mentoring
- Career exploration
- Resume development
- Interview techniques
- Job search strategies
- Employer contacts/connections
- Marketing supports
- Job maintenance support
