About this service
Alberta Police Based Victim Service Programs offer information, support and local referrals for victims of crime and tragedy in accordance with the provincial guidelines outlined in the Victims of Crime Act and the Victims of Crime Protocol and The Canadian Victims Bill of Rights. Alberta police-based victim service programs may utilize the services of highly trained volunteers to provide a 24/7 response to victims of crime and tragedy. Volunteers may provide a continuum of services, from the time of first response by police to the final disposition of the case by the courts.
