About this organization
On July 20th 2017 the Archdiocese of Edmonton Auxiliary Bishop Gregory Bittman celebrated the Inaugural Mass officially starting the Carmelite ministry.
Fr. Ray Guimond, founder and Spiritual Director of Ephphatha House was present to officially hand over the Retreat Centre property he has taken care of since 1988.
Fr. Rudolf DSouza, Regional Superior of the Canadian Carmelite Community was present to accept this gift of the Retreat Centre saying Mount Carmel will have same mission and spirit of Father Raymond, with a focus on Christian spirituality, training and prayer. We invite all who are seeking a deeper relation with God to come experience this in the quiet beauty of these rolling hills approximately 15 minutes north of Stony Plain.
Father Mario Fernandes, the new Director of the Centre. Our main goal is to bring God to the people especially through our way of living, especially through meditation, contemplation and also teaching people how to pray.
