About this service

YWCA Amethyst Project offers 24-hour trauma-informed support and clear, non-judgmental information about options available for women, men and children who have experienced sexual violence, whether recently or in the past.
YWCA Amethyst Project is also the provider of the THIRD OPTION for individuals who attend the Chinook Regional Hospital and report a sexual assault. Thanks to this program, Amethyst Project Advocates support people reporting a recent sexual assault with the 3rd option
- opt for the Amethyst Project's THIRD OPTION and have a sexual assault kit completed and stored, giving them up to one year to decide if they want to pursue the criminal justice route.
YWCA Amethyst Project staff are also available for presentations to community stakeholders, high-risk groups and the public regarding issues surrounding sexual violence.
