About this service
Did you know that only 1% of youth will talk to a professional first when they need to talk? So, who are they talking to? Youth talk to other youth, their peers. The Community Helpers program invites a group of youth to identify peers and adults they find helpful, caring and supportive, through an anonymous survey. Nominated individuals are offered the opportunity to participate in the Community Helpers program. Through this program youth will have the chance to: meet with other helpers to talk about youth issues, learn helping skills and receive resources and information they can use in the future.
