About this service
Working closely with the Indigenous team, college faculty and staff, the Indigenous Student Support Coordinator facilitates open and respectful communication between Indigenous learners and college departments so that Indigenous learners' needs are best served. The Coordinator is responsible for Indigenous student recruitment with a focus on the transition of prospective students. In addition, the Coordinator oversees day-to-day operations of the Niitsitapi Gathering Place, supports the development and delivery of the Indigenous Calendar of Events, provides assistance with the delivery of cultural support and cultural awareness training, and collaborates in the development and implementation of best practices for current and prospective Indigenous students.
