About this service
Grants do not need to be paid back. Canada/Alberta Works offers Foundational Learning grants for eligible academic upgrading and Canadian ESL students. It's vital that you check out their eligibility criteria before you apply (there are penalties for leaving employment and other restrictions). You can find both the guidelines and the online application at Foundational Learning Application. It is also essential that you apply for this funding early - at least one month prior to the beginning of the term you intend to begin your studies. At the time you apply you must print out the Confirmation and Consent page and bring that to the college. You must also register for your classes prior to requesting the necessary paperwork from us which requires payment. We will then complete the required Training Provider Information form and forward that on your behalf to the funding provider.
