About this service
The PChAD program allows you, as a legal guardian, to ask the Court for a protection order. This order will mean your child can be taken to a protective safe house for up to 10 days, even if he / she does not want to go. This 10 day period will provide your child with a structured and protective setting in which to begin detoxification, while providing parents an opportunity to get involved in the process. The time spent in the protective safe house also allows counsellors a chance to assess your childs substance use and offer treatment recommendations to follow once they have been discharged from the program.
