About this organization
COVID-19 UPDATE: Running as usual but with social distancing protocols in place and asking that no sick clients visit. People can call the Hinton Friendship Centre for food hamper delivery.
We are stewards in the collection and purchase of food for distribution to people in need in our Hinton community.
We serve families and individuals in a variety of situations, ranging from single-parents, those on fixed incomes, the working poor, the under or unemployed, and those with other social or economic barriers.
Our services include:
- provide food and other staples to those in need in Hinton and area
- informing clients about other support services.
- advocating for policies to reduce the demand for food bank service.
We have been providing emergency food services to our clients...citizens of Hinton and area, since 1986.
To access service: new clients are asked to provide identification (such as Alberta Health Card) for each member of household when first accessing service.

Hinton Food Bank is open Tuesdays 6:30-8pm.
