Skills For Learning

Skills for Learning is a literacy program comprising 10 group sessions, each lasting 2 hours. It aims to help learners develop confidence, self-advocacy, and engagement in learning through modules on time management, goal planning, budgeting, communication skills, and learning strategies. These programs may charge fees. Other services include Learner Support Services with one-on-one appointments with a literacy mentor, a Reading/Writing/Document use program, and Family Literacy Programming. Family programs include classes for literacy development in infants, support for caregivers in literacy skills and book sharing activities, and parenting skills. There is also a workshop for caregivers on creating engaging, on-the-go activities for children. These programs are funded by the Community Adult Learning Program through the Government of Alberta.
