About this service
Support groups provide a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment for women, regardless of whether they have stayed at a shelter, to share, learn, heal, and grow from experiences of violence. The participants can freely express their feelings of hopelessness, confusion, or exhaustion without fear of judgment, with support provided through attentive listening, guidance, and encouragement. Participation in the Community Support Program is flexible, lasting as long as the woman and support worker perceive it to be necessary. Childcare services are also available at no cost, with pre-registration encouraged. Potential participants can contact the group for more information or to opt out if they believe the program is not a good fit.
