About this service
High-impact in-school or offsite field trip for youth that promotes injury prevention by teaching youth to recognize risk, make informed choices and think about the possible results of activities and behaviours. Sessions include speakers who have real life experience with risk-related trauma such as nurses, injury survivors, and police.
Usually presented in either a full-day or half-day -format, the program may include:
- guest speakers such as, EMS (Emergency Medical Services), local police, trauma services, rehabilitation and injury survivor testimonies
- tours of emergency or intensive care units
- power point presentations and role playing opportunities
- experiential learning activities
