About this service
High-impact in-school or offsite field trip for youth that promotes injury prevention by teaching youth to recognize risks, make informed choices, and think about the possible results of activities and behaviors. Sessions include speakers who have real-life experience with risk-related trauma, such as nurses, injury survivors, and police. Usually presented in either a full-day or half-day format, the program may include guest speakers such as EMS (Emergency Medical Services), local police, trauma services, rehabilitation, and injury survivor testimonies. It may also involve tours of emergency or intensive care units, PowerPoint presentations, role-playing opportunities, and experiential learning activities.
