Green Room

The Green Room encourages positive interaction with others and their environment. The children build on skills they already have, such as problem-solving, fine and gross motor, and emotion regulation (finding positive ways to express how theyre feeling on their own or with educators help). The children are encouraged to practice and develop more self-help skills, such as getting dressed themselves and using the toilet without assistance. The educators in the Green Room provide children with intentional experiences that follow their play topic and are based off of the childrens interests. Were always looking and engaging in creative ways to further expand the childrens development, fine motor and gross motor skills. They children also receive free play time, where theyre able to explore their environments indoors and outdoors. During nap time, they have the option of sleeping or resting their bodies on their beds while working on a quiet activity such as reading a book, doing puzzles, etc. The educators are always nearby to support the children. They answer any questions, pose wonderings and help the children explore topics further. It could be by researching topics such as how caterpillars turn into butterflies.
