About this service
Acquired brain injury (ABI) is brain damage caused by events that occurred after birth, such as a head injury or health concern. The long-term effects of ABI can range from mild to profound and are different for each person affected. Many people with ABI experience increased fatigue (mental and physical) and they may experience changes to their behaviour and personality, physical and sensory abilities, or thinking and learning.
Our ABI programs are designed to help adult survivors of ABI make the fullest recovery possible. We help them remain in their home, build independence, and improve their quality of life, all the while understanding the many changes they and their family must now navigate.
