About this service
The goal of this project is to respond to the specific needs that young parents have when it comes to high school completion, and assist them in creating more promising futures for them and their families. The funding is administered to young parents while they are in full-time studies September to June and also when attending summer school at either of the two locations.
The Strengthening Hope Program covers the expenses of day-to-day living and child care.
To be approved for funding, and to maintain it, applicants MUST:
- Be registered at Braemar School full time
- Be pregnant or parenting
- Be between 16 19 years of age at the time of application
- Have a learning plan established (school staff will assist all students in creating their learning plan)
- Be enrolled and maintain 15 credits
- Have a minimum attendance rate of 80 per cent
- Meet acceptable progress as determined by the school
