About this service
At P.A.L.S. Literacy students work one to one with a volunteer tutor to improve their comprehension and fluency when reading and writing. They attend a 2 hour class once a week and are expected to go home and do 2 hours of homework in the week and 30 to 60 minutes of reading per day. There is an established curriculum that they can work through that will help them build their skills. Classes are available during the day and in the evenings or on weekends so the student can attend classes and continue working to maintain a living and support their families.
