About this service
Many inner city seniors want to stay in their homes for as long as possible. The Helping Hands Program helps to maintain that independence by providing basic services. Workers accompany seniors on shopping trips, or shop for them, if needed.
They transport seniors to medical and dental appointments, take seniors to the bank, provide friendly visits for isolated and shut-in seniors. By connecting seniors to the larger community, many inner city seniors do not require long term health care until much later in life.
