Equine-Assisted Mental Health (EAMH) sessions involve a client working toward their therapeutic goals through interactions with both a horse and a therapist. It involves activities (such as grooming, feeding, haltering and leading a horse) that are supervised by a mental health professional. EAMH can be a highly rewarding way to develop insight into current difficulties as well as focus on resolutions. Some clients find that they are able to face their issues faster and with more motivation than in a traditional office-based therapy setting.
